Dr. Ricafort-Alvarez

MD, FAAP

Dr. Rachel Ricafort-Alvarez is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and has been practicing for over 20 years. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and enjoys taking care of her patients and seeing them grow into young adults. Her former patients now bring their next generation children to see her. She has had the honor of being a Ruthies Awards winner for many years as favorite pediatrician as well as best pediatrician for Nashville Scene’s Music City Toast. She has been part of the Smyrna community for many years and has watched this small town grow. She focuses on comprehensive care, getting to know the patient and their families. She specializes in newborn care, well child care, as well as ADHD, and developmental disorders. She holds staff privileges at Stonecrest Medical Center, Centennial Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

Donna Hamacher

MD, FAAP

Donna Hamacher, MD, FAAP was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She attended St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO for her undergraduate degree and medical school. She completed her pediatric residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been a practicing pediatrician in Middle Tennessee since 2012.

Outside of medicine, she is married with two daughters.

Dr. Hamacher enjoys having conversations with her patients and their families. She wants her patients to feel like they are heard. She is looking forward to establishing positive long-term relationships with her patients and their families.

Mackenzie Davis

CPNP

Mackenzie is a Middle Tennessee native, having grown up right up the road in Clarksville, TN. She attended Vanderbilt University for her undergraduate studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development. She then continued her education at Vanderbilt School of Nursing and achieved her MSN. She is board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She now calls Nashville home with her husband, Austin, and dog, Dax.

Mackenzie loves that she has the opportunity to improve the health and wellbeing of the next generation of leaders. She has a particular interest in the way adverse childhood experiences (ACE’s) influence health outcomes, and hopes to help her patients and families mitigate these effects through early recognition and intervention. She enjoys working with children and adolescents on improving their mental health.

Stephanie Cortez

Stephanie is bilingual in Spanish and is a new graduate with 2 years of experience working in the healthcare field as an RN. Stephanie initially became a Medical Assistant and saw the need to acquire her RN degree. She acquired her Registered Nurse degree from Fortis Institute and is also a graduate of Smyrna High School. Stephanie was another former patient of this practice which apparently had a positive effect on her to return as a RN taking care of our patients.

Trisha Rone

LPN

Trisha came to Smyrna Pediatrics after moving back home from Pennsylvania. She holds a degree from Western Area Career and Tech College; Trisha has worked at numerous area clinics in Washington, PA before joining us at Smyrna Pediatrics. She loves the children that we serve here at our office and always try to make sure that the parent is well informed before leaving the office. Trisha has three children and has been married for 18 years.

Jenny Alballero

Jenny is bilingual in Spanish and has been working in the medical field for over 6 years Jenny received her Medical Assistant certificate from Allied Health Careers in Murfreesboro, Tn and is a graduate of Smyrna High School. The pediatric clinic has inspired Jenny to continue her education in pediatric nursing, thus she has enrolled in school to complete her Registered Nurse degree. Jenny was also a former patient of our practice and decided to start her career at Smyrna pediatrics as a medical assistant.

Deborah Sparks

Practice Administrator

Deborah has an array of experience working with medical practices. Deborah worked for Meharry Medical College for over 30 years and from that she created her own billing company when she recognized that the African America doctors were not privy to electronic billing. She holds a degree in Psychology and Business from UT of the South; Paralegal degree from Southeastern Paralegal school. She has three adult children and has been married to the same spouse for over 44 years.

Ana Pineda

Front Office Coordinator

Ana has her Medical Assistant certification from Fortis Institute and has been working in the health care field for a little over 10 years as a Medical Assistant. Ana came to Smyrna Pediatrics after returning from Florida where she worked in a pediatric neurology clinic. Ana comes with a bundle of experience of technology, reasoning, and is a wonderful team player. Ana, is bilingual in Spanish and English.
