Vaccination Schedule for Your Baby

Over the past century, many diseases have been practically eliminated with the use of vaccinations. Working with your pediatrician, you can lessen the chances that your child will suffer from diseases that were formerly commonplace and had disastrous side effects. At each of your well baby checkups, make sure your child has received all of the vaccinations needed.

By following the schedule outlined below, your child will be protected against

  • Hepatitis A and B, (serious liver diseases)
  • Diptheria, Tetanus (lockjaw), Pertussis (whooping cough)
  • Pneumococcal Disease (serious blood, lung, and brain infections)
  • Haemophilus Influenzae type b (serious brain, throat, and blood infection)
  • Polio (a serious paralyzing disease)
  • Rotavirus infection (a diarrheal infection)
  • Influenza
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (serious measles infection)
  • Chickenpox.

Children’s Vaccination Schedule:

Our office offers the vaccine schedule of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control).  We offer combination vaccines which help lessen the number of injections for your child.

It is recommended to follow the schedule in order for your child to be properly protected against these serious diseases. Vaccines are safe and we are happy to discuss any of your concerns that may arise.

Although the above schedule is the recommended one, Dr. Ricafort or your pediatrician will advise you of any changes that may be recommended for your child. If you have questions, ask the doctor or nurse during your visit.

If you are a nursing mother accompanying your child to the pediatrician, you are welcome to nurse your child before or after receiving the vaccination to provide comfort and help transition your child.
